Assessment & Therapy
What working with me looks like, from the first call to lasting change.
1
First Steps
If you are interested in working with me, please reach out using my contact form or by phone or email:
- I will get back to you within 1-2 business days to find a time to speak by phone for a free consultation call.
- This call will give you a chance to ask any questions you have and learn more about my approach to treatment. It will also give me a chance to understand your goals and determine whether the difficulties you are seeking help for are ones I can likely address.
- If the fit doesn’t seem right for any reason, I will be happy to provide you with other referral options.
2
Assessment
- The treatment process begins with a thorough, initial evaluation, typically conducted in a single two-hour session (though additional assessment sessions are sometimes needed).
- After this assessment, I’ll share my treatment recommendations with you and answer any questions you have so you can decide whether moving forward makes sense for you.
- If either one of us believes that I cannot adequately address your needs after this initial assessment, I will provide you with other referral options.
3
Therapy
- Because we will meet virtually via teletherapy, treatment can take place wherever your anxiety lives — at home, at work, or elsewhere — always with a careful plan to protect your privacy.
- The first few sessions will be focused on creating a roadmap for our work together.
- From there, we’ll begin our exposure or skills building work.
- We will continue working together in this way until you are ready to become your own therapist, typically 10-20 sessions after our first session together.

Intensive Treatment
I also provide intensive treatment, which typically consists of five, 90-minute sessions per week for approximately three weeks. These intensive programs are a great option for individuals traveling from afar and/or for those wanting to expedite the treatment process so that they can feel better sooner.
